City Walls

The walls that encircle Baraqish are among the best-preserved pre-Islamic fortifications in Arabia. Up to 8 metres high in places and studded with 57 towers, they stand largely intact on the hilltop perimeter. Two gates pierce the circuit — one east, one west — and the entire surface is covered in Minaic inscriptions, making the walls themselves one of the most significant epigraphic records of the Ma'in kingdom.
