Baraqish is a remarkable pre-Islamic site sitting on a fortified hill in the Jawf valley. As one of the best-preserved ruins of the Ma'in civilization, it offers an extraordinary window into a South Arabian kingdom that flourished more than two millennia ago — massive walls, inscribed stones, and standing temple columns rising from the desert plateau. The site is currently inaccessible due to Yemen's civil conflict, which has been ongoing since 2015.
