The walls, gate towers, and temple structures at Baraqish are covered in inscriptions in the Minaic script — the language of the Ma'in kingdom, a form of ancient South Arabian writing. These represent one of the largest concentrations of Minaic epigraphy anywhere, and they have been studied by Italian and French archaeological missions over the decades. The Minaic script is related to the Sabaean and is an ancestor of the Ge'ez alphabet still used in Ethiopia and Eritrea.
