Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame

The world's premier cricket museum, dedicated to the greatest batsman of all time

The Bradman Museum is the world's best cricket museum and the main reason many visitors come to Bowral. It sits beside Bradman Oval, where the young Donald Bradman played his early cricket, and holds an extraordinary collection of memorabilia, equipment, and documents relating to cricket's greatest player and the sport's broader history.

Even non-cricket fans often find themselves absorbed here — the museum is well-designed, and Bradman's story is genuinely remarkable. The adjacent Bradman Oval is still a functioning cricket ground, and watching a match here while looking at the hills is one of the more pleasant ways to spend a Saturday afternoon in the Southern Highlands.

A story
Don Bradman scored 6,996 Test runs at an average of 99.94 — a statistical achievement so far above anyone else that it is often cited as the greatest performance in any sport. He retired two runs short of a century average after being bowled out for a duck in his final Test innings. He was born in Cootamundra but grew up in Bowral, practising as a child by hitting a golf ball against a curved corrugated iron water tank with a cricket stump.
