Newcastle Museum

Free museum of coal, steel, and city history

Housed in a converted railway workshop on the foreshore, this free museum covers the city's industrial and social history — coal mining, steelmaking, the 1989 earthquake, and the transformation of the harbour precinct. The Supernova science gallery in the same building is aimed at families and school groups.
