Burrungkuy, long known to visitors as Nourlangie Rock, is the other great rock-art stop in Kakadu. A loop walk links shelters, paintings, sandstone walls, and shaded pockets of monsoon forest, making it one of the park's best introductions to the escarpment country.
The walk is more varied than Ubirr and easier to fit into a drive between Jabiru and Cooinda. Take your time at the interpretive signs; without them the paintings are beautiful, but with them the place gains cultural and historical depth.
