Maguk, also known as Barramundi Gorge, is one of Kakadu's best-loved plunge-pool walks when access is open. The track follows monsoon forest and creek country to a clear pool below the escarpment, with cliffs closing the scene.
It is easier than Jim Jim or Twin Falls but still depends on seasonal road conditions. Check whether swimming is currently advised, and never assume a Top End waterhole is safe just because other people are nearby.
