Yellow Water Billabong is Kakadu's most accessible wetland experience and one of its best wildlife areas. Boat cruises move through paperbarks, lilies, floodplain channels, and crocodile habitat, with excellent chances of seeing birds and saltwater crocodiles.
The dawn cruise is the one to choose if you can manage the early start. Light is softer, wildlife is active, and the heat has not yet flattened the day. Book ahead in the dry season, especially if you are staying around Cooinda.
