Felons Barrel Room is the anchor bar of the Howard Smith Wharves precinct, brewed on site and served from a long bar that looks directly out over the river and up at the Story Bridge. The beers are solid — a core range of lagers and ales — and the riverside terrace is one of the best outdoor drinking spots in Brisbane on a warm evening.
The wharves setting gives the place real character: the old stone walls, the looming bridge overhead, and the Brisbane River in the foreground make it scenic in a way that most Brisbane bars have to manufacture. Gets busy on weekends and Friday evenings; worth arriving before 6pm if you want a riverside table. Book ahead for groups. Food is available but the focus is the beer and the view.
