The Japanese Garden at Toowong is a small but carefully composed part of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha. It offers a quieter mood than the broader subtropical plantings, with stone, water, bridges, and clipped forms doing the work.
It is best treated as one stop within the larger botanic gardens rather than a destination on its own. Pair it with the lookout, walking paths, and other garden sections for an easy half-day away from the central riverfront.
