South Bank Parklands

Riverside parklands with a man-made beach and galleries

A riverfront park on the south bank of the Brisbane River, created on the site of the 1988 World Expo. The parklands include a man-made beach and lagoon, tropical gardens, walkways, and a good strip of cafes and restaurants along the promenade. The Queensland Museum, Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), and State Library are all within the precinct. A footbridge connects South Bank to the city centre.
