Gympie Court House

A handsome red-brick courthouse on Channon Street, built in 1902 with a tall Italianate clock tower that doubles as the unofficial landmark of the upper end of town. The building is still in use as the Gympie District Court.

It's an unusually grand piece of civic architecture for a town this size — a measure of how much gold money was sloshing around when Queensland decided what buildings Gympie deserved.
