Maroochydore is relatively spread out and a car makes things easier, though it is not essential for visitors who plan to stick to the beach and town centre. The Sunshine Coast bus network connects Maroochydore to Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, Caloundra, and Noosa Heads with reasonable frequency.
Cycling along the foreshore and river path is a pleasant option for the stretch between Cotton Tree and Alexandra Headland. The flat terrain makes it easy going even for occasional cyclists, and several shops near the beach rent bikes and paddleboards.
