Sunshine Plaza is the largest shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast and the practical hub for the whole region. It contains the major Australian department stores, a supermarket, a cinema complex, and hundreds of specialty shops spread across two levels. For visitors, it is less of an attraction in itself and more of a useful stop for anything you forgot to pack.
The centre also houses the main Maroochydore bus station, which makes it the transit point for services to Brisbane, Noosa, Nambour, and points further afield. If you need to change buses or wait for a connection, the food court provides the most obvious shelter.
