Mooloolaba is on the Sunshine Coast, about 100 km north of Brisbane and 15 km south of Noosa Heads. The Sunshine Coast Airport at Marcoola is 15 minutes' drive to the north and has direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and (in winter) New Zealand.
By car from Brisbane the trip takes about 90 minutes north on the Bruce Highway and east on the Sunshine Motorway. Greyhound and Premier coaches stop in town on the daily Brisbane–Cairns runs. The closest train station is at Nambour, about 20 km inland, with regular Translink services to Brisbane.
