The town's main wet-weather attraction, the aquarium at The Wharf complex holds about 15,000 marine animals across some thirty tanks. The walk-through ocean tunnel is the centrepiece — sharks, rays, large kingfish and the occasional grouper drifting overhead. There are seal performances throughout the day and a reef tank with feeding talks at set times.
Allow about three hours for a thorough visit. Tickets are notably cheaper if booked online in advance. It is open daily, but on a hot summer's day the air conditioning alone is worth the price of entry.
