City Lookout, also known as John Campbell Miles Memorial Lookout, is the quick way to read Mount Isa from above. The mine stack, low hills, dry streets, and red dirt all line up in one view.
Go near sunset if the lookout is open. The light softens the hard industrial edges, and the scale of the mine beside the town becomes obvious.
