Table Cape is the reason most travellers detour to Wynyard. The old volcanic headland rises above Bass Strait, giving wide views over farms, cliffs, and the north-west coast.
The short cliff-top walk to Table Cape Lighthouse is worthwhile in any clear weather. In spring, the tulip farm on the cape adds the colour that makes Wynyard show up on Tasmanian calendars and road-trip plans.
