Pooseum is a deliberately odd little museum about animal droppings, but the joke has genuine educational value. Its displays use scat to explain diet, tracking, ecosystems, and the way naturalists read evidence in the field.
In Richmond it works because the town is compact and already attracts visitors with the bridge, gaol, and colonial streets. Pooseum is not essential Tasmania, but it is memorable, child-friendly, and more thoughtful than the name suggests.
