The Geeveston Town Hall Visitor Centre is part information desk, part local history stop. The building dates from the early 1900s, and the displays pick up the town's forestry and timber story, which matters here more than in most small Tasmanian towns.
Use it at the start of a visit, especially if you are heading onward to Tahune or Hartz Mountains. The staff can also tell you what roads and walks are sensible in the day's weather.
