Gaiety Theatre

Restored 1898 theatre from Zeehan's silver-boom years, now part of the heritage centre.

The Gaiety Theatre is the most vivid reminder that Zeehan was once much bigger and louder than it is now. Built in 1898, it was one of the grand buildings of the west coast, a theatre made for a mining town that expected crowds, touring performers, and money at the door.

It is now folded into the West Coast Heritage Centre visit, but it deserves attention in its own right. Step inside for the scale: it tells you more about Zeehan's ambitions than any quiet street outside can.
