Mandu Mandu Gorge shows the inland side of Cape Range: pale limestone, loose rock, and a dry creek bed that feels far from the reef even though the coast is close. It is a good contrast after a morning snorkel.
Walk early, wear proper shoes, and do not underestimate the heat. The gorge is beautiful in a spare, harsh way, and it rewards travellers who look beyond Exmouth's marine headline.
