Eating Out

Perth's dining scene is built on exceptional raw materials: fresh seafood from the Indian Ocean, produce from the fertile southwest, and wine from Margaret River and the Swan Valley just up the road. Northbridge is the place to go for Asian food of almost any variety — Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese restaurants have operated here for generations and the quality is consistently good. For seafood, head to the Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle, where the boats come in and the restaurants are straightforwardly about eating fish at a table by the water. The café culture, particularly in Leederville and Subiaco, punches above its weight for a city of Perth's size.
