Hopetoun

Small coastal town 50 km south, gateway to Fitzgerald River National Park

Hopetoun sits on the coast 50 km south of Ravensthorpe — a quiet beach town with a long jetty, white sand, and clear water. It is the eastern access point to Fitzgerald River National Park, one of the most biodiverse temperate floras on Earth and a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

From Hopetoun the road into the park climbs over East Mount Barren, with a sharp granite peak that can be walked in an hour for a 360-degree view over coast and bush. The park's beaches — Hamersley Inlet, Four Mile Beach — are usually empty.
