Chief Quipuha Park sits on the Paseo de Susana, the small peninsula reclaimed from the harbour on the north edge of central Hagåtña. The park is dominated by a bronze statue of Chief Quipuha (Kepuha), the senior maga'låhi of the Hagåtña area when the Jesuits arrived in 1668 and the first chief to convert to Catholicism. His son later turned against the Spanish and was killed in the Chamorro–Spanish wars; the statue treats him as a hinge figure in island history.
The park itself is a strip of grass, palms and benches with views over the harbour and the breakwater. It is at its best in the late afternoon. The Paseo de Susana extends north from here past the small Paseo Stadium toward the ocean.
