Paseo de Susana is the small artificial peninsula that juts out into the harbour at the north end of central Hagåtña. It was created from rubble cleared out of the city after the destruction of 1944 — a literal foundation of the modern capital is the wreckage of the colonial one. The point now holds a small park, a youth baseball field at Paseo Stadium, and a half-scale replica of New York's Statue of Liberty, a curiosity donated by the Boy Scouts of America in the 1950s.
For walkers it is the natural extension of any tour of central Hagåtña: an easy stroll out to the tip and back, with sea on both sides and a view across the bay to Tumon. There is little shade, so bring a hat and water. Best at sunset.
