Summit Road follows the crest of the Port Hills between Christchurch and Lyttelton Harbour. You can drive it, cycle it, or use sections as access points for walks along the Crater Rim.
The views are the point: Christchurch and the Canterbury Plains on one side, the harbour and Banks Peninsula on the other, with the Southern Alps visible on clear days.
