Omarama's hot tubs are a low-key but pleasant way to end a day of driving, gliding, or walking around the Clay Cliffs. The draw is not geothermal drama but privacy: wood-fired tubs set in native planting with views across the dry Waitaki landscape.
They are easiest to treat as a booked rest stop rather than a spontaneous sight. If you are passing through in winter or after a long day on the road, the appeal is obvious.
