The Wellington Tramway Museum preserves electric trams that once ran in Wellington, including cars from the 1920s and 1930s. A short operating line lets visitors ride heritage trams rather than only view them in a shed.
It is a modest but enjoyable family stop on the Kapiti Coast, especially if you are already visiting Queen Elizabeth Park or travelling between Raumati Beach and Paekakariki.
