Wrights Hill

Wrights Hill is a western Wellington viewpoint with a World War II coastal defence complex hidden beneath it. The hill gives broad views over the city and surrounding ranges, while the fortress tunnels add a deeper historical reason to visit.

The underground tunnels are not open every day, so check public open days if that is the main reason for going. Even when they are closed, the hill works as a quiet lookout above Karori and Zealandia.
