Ruakuri Cave is one of Waitomo's strongest cave visits, especially if you want more geological drama than the short glowworm boat trip alone provides. The guided route descends by a long spiral entrance into limestone passages, curtains, pools, and glowworm sections.
It is also one of the more accessible cave experiences in the area, with a designed walkway rather than a rough scramble. Book ahead in busy periods, and pair it with Waitomo Glowworm Cave or black-water rafting depending on whether you want a calm underground walk or something wetter.
