Getting There

Dunedin Airport is 30 kilometres south of the city, connected by airport bus and taxi. Air New Zealand flies direct from Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch; flights from Auckland take about two hours. International visitors usually connect through Christchurch or Auckland.

By road, Dunedin is 3.5 hours from Queenstown and 5.5 hours from Christchurch on the South Island's main highway. The coastal highway along the Otago coastline is slower but scenic. InterCity coaches connect Dunedin to Christchurch and Queenstown.
