Fualopa Islet

Fualopa is one of the larger uninhabited islets of the Funafuti Conservation Area, lying on the western reef. Its lagoon-side beach is broad and shallow, the snorkelling drops off steeply just beyond the reef edge, and the interior holds a small forest where seabirds nest. It is a quieter alternative to Tepuka if you want an islet largely to yourself.

There are no facilities at all. Anything you bring — water, food, shade — you take back. The crossing from Fongafale takes about forty minutes by small boat, longer in rough weather.
