A quieter alternative to Champagne Beach, Port Orly is a scenic bay on the northeast coast with a good fringing reef for snorkelling. The coral here is in decent condition and the fish life includes the usual Indo-Pacific mix of angelfish, parrotfish, and reef sharks in the deeper sections. The beach itself is attractive without being as dramatic as Champagne Beach.
The road to Port Orly requires a 4WD and is in poor condition after rain. The village maintains the beach and charges a small entry fee. Because it attracts fewer visitors than Champagne Beach, you are more likely to have the water to yourself.
