Mount Yasur is the reason most people come to Tanna, and it delivers: an accessible, actively erupting volcano where you walk to the rim and look into a live lava lake. Beyond the volcano, Tanna has extraordinary cultural depth — the John Frum cargo cult ceremonies at Lamakara on Fridays, the kastom villages maintaining traditional Melanesian dress and customs, and some of the best black sand beaches in the Pacific.
