Getting Around

Andorra is tiny — about 470 square kilometres — and the main road, the CG-1, links the Spanish border through Andorra la Vella to the French border in less than 30 km. You can drive end-to-end in under an hour, traffic permitting.

On foot: Andorra la Vella's compact centre is easily walkable. The famous shopping mile along Avinguda Meritxell and Avinguda Carlemany can be covered in 20 minutes at a stroll. Most historic sights in the Barri Antic are also within easy walking distance.

By bus: A network of colour-coded public bus lines connects the capital with all seven parishes. Services run from early morning until around 21:00. Fares are low (around €1.50–€3 depending on distance). The Mou-te app is the easiest way to plan routes and check timetables. In winter, ski resorts run their own free shuttle buses between villages and slopes.

By car: Many visitors rent a car, especially for reaching the higher parishes of Ordino, Canillo, and Encamp, or the ski areas. Roads are generally well-maintained but mountain passes can close in bad weather. Fuel and car hire are cheaper than in neighbouring France or Spain. Parking in Andorra la Vella is plentiful and affordable.

Note: There are no taxis in the traditional sense, but rideshare-style services operate, and hotels can usually arrange transfers.
