Baghaberd

Rugged medieval fortress ruins on a ridge above the Voghji valley northwest of Kapan.

Baghaberd is not a polished monument. It is a rough fortress site on a ridge above the road toward Kajaran, and reaching it takes more effort than visiting Vahanavank.

That effort is the point. The ruined walls, steep position, and long view down the valley explain why this mattered as a defensive place in medieval Syunik. Go for atmosphere and landscape rather than museum-style interpretation.
