Shkhmuradi Monastery is one of those Armenian ruins that feels half-reclaimed by the landscape. It lies in the hills southwest of Tsaghkavan, partly hidden by vegetation and overshadowed by a large rock face.
The reward is not architectural perfection, but discovery. Go with good directions or a local driver, and allow time for a short hike and some wrong turns.
