3 Blogs to Read Before Yerevan

A Yerevan local, a Pole who keeps going back and an independent newsroom — three ways of paying attention to Armenia

Armenia gets written about in two registers: diaspora sentiment and thin SEO itineraries. These three are neither. Between them they cover the Cascade and the tufa boulevards Tamanian drew, the Soviet mosaics and bus stops nobody photographs, the Areni wine country, and the politics that shape what the city looks like this year.

The useful split here is distance. One writer lives in Yerevan, one has been returning for a decade, and one publishes from the city without being a travel site at all. Read them in that order and the place stops being an itinerary.
