Getting There

Baden is easily reached from Vienna by public transport, making it a natural half-day or full-day excursion. The most convenient option is the Baden Bahn — a historic tram line that runs from the Vienna Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) directly to Baden in about 75 minutes, running every 15–30 minutes throughout the day. This is the pleasantest way to arrive, passing through the southern suburbs and into the wine country.

Alternatively, ÖBB trains from Vienna Meidling or Wien Hauptbahnhof take around 30 minutes to Baden station, which sits at the western edge of the town centre. By car, Baden is about 30 km south of Vienna via the A2 motorway; parking is available in several car parks near the centre.
