Baden bei Wien is a spa town that rewards a half to full day trip from Vienna. The Kurpark is the centrepiece — a large, well-maintained park with rose gardens, a bandstand, and shaded walks that connect to the surrounding hills and vineyards. The Rollettmuseum covers local history including the town's great era when Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, and other composers came to take the waters. The thermal baths are the other main draw: the Thermalstrandbad is an outdoor complex open in warmer months, while the Römerquelle bath uses the original Roman spring site. The Casino Baden, one of Austria's oldest, draws evening visitors from the capital. Beyond the town itself, the surrounding Baden Hills and the Helenental valley offer excellent walking and cycling through vineyards and forests.
