By car: From Salzburg, take the B158 east through St. Wolfgang and Strobl — about 55 km. From Vienna, take the A1 motorway to the Regau exit, then the B145 south — about 280 km.
By bus: The Postbus from Salzburg takes about 75 minutes. From Linz, change at Attnang-Puchheim for a connecting service. Bad Ischl is not on the main rail network; the scenic Salzkammergutbahn that ran through the town closed in 1997.
By plane: Salzburg Airport is the closest (about 70 km), with connections to major European cities. Linz (80 km) is also an option.
