The Suchard-Milka factory on Fohrenburgstraße has been producing chocolate in Bludenz since 1888, and on warm days you can genuinely smell cocoa drifting over the town centre. The factory itself (now operated by Mondelez) is not open for tours, but the Milka Lädele — a factory outlet and experience shop — sits at the site entrance and sells the full range of Milka products, including varieties not available elsewhere, at factory prices.
It is cheerfully commercial and makes no apology for that, but there is something appealing about the combination of an Alpine market town and a purple-branded chocolate empire. The shop is worth a quick stop if you are passing: the discounted irregular-shaped bars in particular tend to move fast. The address is Fohrenburgstraße 1, a ten-minute walk northwest of the railway station.
