Bregenz eats well for a city of its size. The local Vorarlberger cuisine draws on Swiss and southern German traditions — cheese-heavy, meat-heavy, and very satisfying after a day on the Pfänder. Käsespätzle (egg noodles baked with melted cheese) is the regional dish to seek out. The lakeside and the old town have the best concentration of restaurants.
