Graz has a lively bar scene concentrated around the Mehlplatz and Färberplatz area in the old town — a cluster of squares that fill up from late afternoon onward. The city's large student population keeps prices reasonable and the hours late. There are also a number of good wine bars specialising in Styrian whites, which are worth seeking out.
