Innsbruck Airport (INN) handles flights from major European cities; Austrian Airlines, easyJet, and seasonal charter services are the main carriers. The airport is minutes from the city centre by bus.
By train, Innsbruck sits on the main Munich–Verona axis. ÖBB and Deutsche Bahn run frequent services from Munich (about 2 hours), Salzburg (about 2 hours), and Zurich (about 3.5 hours via the Arlberg route). Italian trains run north through the Brenner Pass from Verona and Bologna — a dramatic journey through the Alps. The main station (Hauptbahnhof) is a 15-minute walk from the Old Town.
By car, Innsbruck sits at the junction of two major Alpine motorways: the A12 east–west through the Inn valley, and the A13 (Brennerautobahn) running south over the Brenner to Italy. Traffic on the Brenner is heavy in summer.
