Innsbruck's most recognisable landmark. The late-Gothic oriel balcony, covered with 2,657 gilded copper tiles, was built in 1500 for Emperor Maximilian I so he could watch tournaments and festivities in the square below. The small museum inside covers Maximilian's life and the building's history. The real draw is the balcony itself and the lively square around it, lined with colourful medieval facades.
