Kufstein is on the main rail line between Innsbruck and Munich, making it straightforward to reach from either city. Trains from Innsbruck take around 45 minutes; from Munich, the journey is about 75 minutes. The train station is in the centre of town, a short walk from the fortress funicular. By car, Kufstein is directly on the A12 Inn Valley motorway.
