Inn River Promenade

The riverside promenade runs along the west bank of the Inn from the old town bridge northward, with the fortress cliff rising above the east bank and the painted facades of the old town visible across the water. It is the most pleasant short walk in Kufstein — flat, shaded by linden trees, and with a clear view back toward the fortress that is better than anything you get in the town itself.

The Inn at Kufstein is wide and fast-moving, green with snowmelt in spring and lower and bluer in late summer. The promenade is also part of the long-distance Inn Valley cycling route (Innradweg), which runs from the Swiss border all the way to Passau in Germany. Benches face the water at intervals and there are several cafes within a few minutes' walk. The promenade is at its best in the late afternoon when the sun catches the fortress walls and turns them gold.
