Leibnitz is 35 kilometres south of Graz on the A9 motorway. By train, direct services from Graz take about 30 minutes on the Koralmbahn line; trains run regularly throughout the day. The train station is a short walk from the Stadtplatz.
Driving from Graz gives you more flexibility for exploring the surrounding vineyards, and there is ample parking in town. The road south from Leibnitz into Slovenia crosses the border at Spielfeld, about 10 kilometres away.
